GO Outdoors rewards customers with an innovative mobile-based mobile loyalty programme
Customers who cycle, run, ride, climb or fish their way into a GO Outdoors store are set to be rewarded with the UK’s first nationwide launch of an innovative mobile-based loyalty scheme. Powered by technology from Mobilize Systems, GO Outdoors discount card holders with an iPhone can immediately receive and redeem exclusive deals via their smartphone.
This is the first smartphone-based loyalty scheme to be launched nationally, made possible by Mobilize bringing together mobile phone technology, terminal and electronic point of sale (EPOS) payment systems. Customers simply present their smartphone to the cashier at point of sale, so no need to carry a plastic loyalty card, or fumble in a wallet or purse for a paper voucher.
The mobile-based loyalty scheme brings significant enhancements for GO Outdoors and its customers. Whilst customers can enjoy using their phone to earn and redeem rewards and offers at the point-of-sale, GO Outdoors benefits from enhanced customer engagement. In addition, with no need for plastic cards or paper vouchers the cost of operating the loyalty programme is reduced.
Lee Bagnall, GO Outdoors’ Chief Operating Officer says: “We are delighted with the work from Mobilize and excited for the opportunity this presents as part of our extensive Multi Channel Strategy”
We are making shopping smarter and easier for the consumer. “The ability to receive and redeem offers through the phone changes the way we shop and interact with our favourite stores. GO Outdoors is the first nationwide retailer to realise the potential of fully ‘mobilized’ loyalty and has been the perfect, enthusiastic partner to bring the first programme to the UK high street.” Claes Kockum, Commercial Director of Mobilize Systems
Mobilize are shortlisted in the 2012 Smart UK Project, a competition sponsored by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to discover the country’s best new technology innovation across the mobile industry.
